The main renovations that should be saved are renovations that would leave your home exposed to cold and the elements.  An example would having windows replaced while you are living in the home.  Another would be a home addition that requires you to open up the back of the house and to expose it to the elements while work is being done.  While some exterior renovations such as adding new siding can be done in the winter, some contractors may recommend waiting until it gets warmer to make sure it is done right.
